Your profile

Choose the name and photo your teammates see in each workspace.

You have a profile in each workspace you belong to. Open Settings → Profile to see your profile in the workspace you are in, then choose Edit profile. You can change your display name, write a short bio, and add or remove your photo. Your sign-in email is shown here and cannot be changed.

Your display name can contain up to 30 characters and your bio up to 300 characters. The fields stop accepting additional characters at the limit, including pasted text. Your profile in one workspace doesn't change how you appear in another, so you can be "Nok" with your team and "Nok (Design)" with a client.

When you join a workspace, you're asked for a name there. It starts from your most recent profile in another workspace, so keeping the same name is one tap. You can also skip and get a guest name.

Choose a photo

Click your avatar or its pencil badge to upload a photo. Choose a JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC/HEIF image up to 20 MB from your phone or computer. Drag the photo inside the fixed circular preview to reposition it. On desktop, use the zoom slider to adjust the framing. Minimum zoom fits the photo’s shorter side to the circle. On a phone, pinch to zoom; the circle has space around its edges.

Choose Apply to preview the crop, then Save changes to save your profile. The finished photo is a 512 × 512 JPEG. Transparent areas become white. The original image stays on your device.

Click an existing avatar to reopen the photo editor. Choose Remove image at the bottom left to return to initials. This takes effect when you save. Canceling the photo editor keeps the previous draft photo. Leaving with unsaved profile changes lets you keep editing or discard them. If saving fails, your edits remain available to retry.

Your current identity

Your saved name and photo appear on older messages as well as new ones. Structured labels, such as a routine's creator and person mentions, show your current name too. Your own view updates when you save, and teammates who have the app open see the change as soon as it is saved. Anyone offline sees it when they come back. Text someone typed into a message or page stays as written.

If your profile changed on another device while you were editing, reload the latest profile before saving again so that you do not overwrite the newer changes.

If you are no longer in a workspace

Leaving a workspace, or being removed from it, doesn't erase you from its history. Your old messages, page history and activity keep showing the name you had there. If you rejoin, your profile there comes back as you left it.
